“THE DEPARTURE OF THE MOLE”

After very many accusations of being a mole, it finally departed the
house for a “new formation”
General Gregory Mugisha Muntuyera, in excessive pain more than the
heart and mind could picture finally left the FDC. This is a party he had
helped establish way back in the early 2000s. The news of his departure
spread through to the Ugandans through the moderate general’s official
twitter and Facebook pages on 25th / 09/ 2018. The general expressed
how he had held a meeting with the FDC leadership in which he
represented a report of his findings in the countrywide consultations
from January 15th to September 7th 2018. In the small post he informed
the general public about his departure from the FDC. He thus promised a
press conference later in the week to give the general public his stand
and reasons for his departure.
The departure of the maverick general exposed very many issues that
were going on in the FDC. To note amongst them are the November
2018 party presidential elections in the FDC. This is a position that is
vied for after every 2.5years in the party. During these elections there
were two ideologies that were at conflict. The defiance campaign of
POA and the building of party structures led by Gen. Muntu. However,
to note during these elections, the defiance campaign was later joined by
Dr. kiiza Besigye on their campaign trail. The latter’s support to POA
exposed his preferred candidate which would later account for the
victory of the defiance team over that of Muntu. These elections left
many in the party divided and very many incurable wounds. It thus
became common knowledge that as later referred to as team Muntu
could no longer be accepted as legible members of the FDC because
they had a contrary idea to that of the victors led by POA. The latter
